Onion ice cream

The Good News: This past weekend I dug out the rest of the onions from my garden. I chopped them and put them in the freezer to use throughout the year. The house has smelled wonderfully of onion ever since.

The Bad News: Apparently everything picks up the flavor of onion. We made root beer floats for family night tonight and the ice cream tasted like onions. That was the most disappointing ice cream ever.

We've got movement

Arabella has recently started crawling and is getting pretty fast at it. She is mostly doing the army crawl but she can get where she wants to with it.

Last week at school MacKayla had "Dress like your hero" day. When we asked who her hero was her first response was Jesus, we then asked if she had another one, hopefully one easier to dress up as. Her next answer was her dad, so she dressed up like her daddy for school. Here she is...

I have been working again at getting a great photo of the girls together so here are a few attempts, it helps that they are so cute and are mostly cooperative of mommy and the camera...

We also had the ward Halloween party and chili cook-off this week The girls and I dressed up for it. MacKayla was Darth Vader, Annika was a Pooh hunny-pot, Arabella was a flower and I was a hodge-podge of plaid.

Photo Fun...

Photo Tag

I was tagged by my good friend Tammie. You are supposed to look in your photos on your computer and post your 4th photo in your 4th folder and tell what is going on in that picture.

This is James and I around November 2001. We were goofing around in my apartment with the camera and this is the photo that came out of it. This is about a month before we were married. We were both living in Heritage Halls, I was in Felt Hall and James in Broadbent Hall. However, the joke in the ward was that James lived in Felt as well because he was at my apartment anytime that he wasn't in class and the building was open to him. We even kept all of our food in my apartment and he just ate at my place for all of his meals. Gosh, I spoiled him even then.

I tag...Heather, Leslie and Desi.

Happy Birthday Annika...Snow Days...Idaho Woman

Today is Annika's fourth birthday. We had a party for her this past Friday with all of her friends. She had a princess party and the girls all came in costume. It was a lot of fun.

What a girly party

Presents

Well I guess it's that time of year again, the snow has come. This weekend we had our first snow storm, it wasn't too bad, but it was darn cold. Thankfully it has all melted away and it is a bit warmer now. James took a few photos of the snow to share.

I think I have earned my Idaho Womanhood now :) In the last year I have grown a garden, made a scrapbook, joined a card making group, and learned to can. A friend called the other day with a great offer on peaches so I got two boxes and decided to learn to can. I actually had a lot of fun doing it. I had to drive around to four different stores to find any jars though, apparently you are supposed to start earlier...oops. The only jars that I was able to get were the pints, but we now have peaches for the next year.....Now does anyone know anything fun to do with peaches, the funny thing is that we hardly eat peaches. Next year we will do salsa...

We have teeth!

In the last update I forgot to include that Arabella has finally gotten her first teeth. The first one came through on the 19th of September and the second one this past weekend. She was a pretty good teether, she had a cold during the first one so she was a bit irritable, but the second one came through great.

8 Months Old

This year has gone by so quickly, I can't believe we are already in October! Thankfully we are having nice weather right now so I can still pretend that the snow is not coming. Not much is going on in my life right now, mostly it's just being a chauffeur for the bugs and the fun that they are having. Last week I did get to spend a few days with my parents as they came up for a visit. It was fun for the girls to love on their grandparents. Well here is the latest update on the girls as well as new photos, I think they are the cutest kids in the world, but I may be a bit biased.

Arabella is eight months old now! I can't believe how fast the time is going by. She is sitting up by herself and is even working on getting into a seated position by herself. She is a happy baby who loves to play with her family. One of her favorite things now is to watch as her sisters make funny faces, she cracks up every time. She also LOVES to eat. We have yet to find a food that she will not eat, her favorite food right now is graham crackers though.

Annika is excited that it is finally October as she knows that her birthday is in October. She is having a lot of fun in preschool this year and her teachers say that she is a wonderful girl there. Annika also loves dance class, she is a little ballerina and just adores it.

MacKayla is having a blast in kindergarten. She loves her new friends and all that she is getting to learn. She has almost completed her kindergarten skills book already and is about ready to read. Just a couple more months and she can join in the family love of reading. MacKayla is also enjoying dance class, she loves to spin and dance all day long.
