I am at a loss

So I am a major planner. I like to plan my life and events months in advance where possible. James and I officially got engaged after we had picked out the names of our kids. I have planned the birth and family arrival schedule of this coming baby. I have started planning MacKayla's baptism (and she only turns 7 next month.) I know what I want to do for Christmas this year. I have to have my life organized or I feel weird.

So what is the problem then you ask? I am at a loss as to what we are going to name this baby if it is a girl. We had two girl names picked out, we were lucky to come up with a great third girl name that we love. But I cannot come up with another one that I love. I am hoping that this means that this is my little Johnny and that is what I can't find a girl name.

The only name that we like right now is Elizabeth. However we have a cousin that is Bella's age that is named Elizabeth so they would only be a couple years apart. I thought of using Elizabeth as a middle name, but then the only first name that I liked with it is Hannah, and that is the exact name of another cousin. I don't think anyone in the family would really care if we shared a name, but I kinda want the kids to all have their own name.

So here is where I need help! I need ideas for girl names. We are not overly picky but we have a few "rules." We don't like overly trendy names. The name needs to fit with the other girls, MacKayla, Annika and Arabella. It needs to be a more gender specific name, I am not too big on a name that could go for either sex. I would kinda like something somewhat classic. It also can't be anything that James can negatively associate something with (and this one is hard, MacKayla would have been MacKenzie, but it reminded James of Spud Mackenzie, the Budweiser dog.) So if you have any great names that you are willing to share, please share your ideas. I can't say that we will go with it, but maybe we will, or maybe it will help point us in the right direction.

I had the same problem coming up with girl names and I only needed one! Boy names just seem to be much easier. I can share with you the ones we didn't choose...Katelyn, Kayla, and Kylee (clearly you can see we were stuck in the "K" category lol) But I am going with the fact that you are going to have a boy this time...been feeling it since the beginning =-) When do you find out??

If Capri was triplets they would be Channing, Capri, and Cadence. Sorry not much help. Those don't really fit your rules. I just get a baby book, starting writing then crossing off. Good luck!

It got harder to choose with each of our kids. You feel like you've already used the good names, right? We didn't choose Macy's name until the night before she was born. I read it in a baby book and the meaning had real significance for us and we just knew it was her name. I also liked Avery and Mia.

Good luck! It's an exciting thing to choose a name for a baby!!

Carl like Allison for a girl name, but it doesn't really match your girls because they all end with an "A". And you might want to do another "M", since you have to names that start with "A" already. I have a friend that has a girl named Kyra and another one named Suzanna, those both end with "A". I'm terrible at picking names. Do you have a name book? Maybe that will give us something to do on our drive. Can't wait!

Wow....you are a major planner, I love it.....and I had no idea. But it does make sense cause you are always so on top of things. Girl names we didn't get to use that we liked: Sydney, Kayci (spelled to make the gender known that it is a female), Addilyn. Boy names we liked that we didn't get to use: Collin, Carter. If you are looking for names ending in "a" I like Kyla and Mya.

Kamden was going to be Kambre Rose if he had been a girl. My Grandma told me she was glad that Kamden was a boy, because she thought Kambre Rose sounded like a hookers name. I don't think you need my help on this. Right Nana? haha!

Ok I am not going to give you any name ideas--I just suggest going through the baby name book and then write down on a list all the names you like, then slowly cross the ones off you really don't like. (see I am a list person) After naming 6 kids--I know how hard it can be. I will give you some of the girl names we didn't use, Samantha, Natalie, Kinzee. Somehow babies all end up with a name you may have to just be a little more patient with this one. Plus you have to find out what it is first!!!

I thought of another name that I like that seems to really fit with your names. How about Karissa or Kalissa?

I'm just getting around to reading your blog...congratulations on the new baby! Sorry, I can't help with the names. We don't even really talk about names until the week the baby is due but maybe you should wait to see what you are having so you don't have to stress about it unless you really have to.
